Supplier Qualification Process

At TAQA Transmission and TAQA Distribution we apply three distinct types of systemized supplier qualifications to ensure alignment with our business and technical standards and requirements:

1.Generic Supplier Prequalification
A fundamental evaluation of the supplier’s organizational legitimacy and capabilities to operate in compliance with TAQA standards. This process follows the registration stage and evaluates key aspects such as the supplier’s management system, HSE management, Business Continuity Program, labor law compliance, and financial stability.

  • Validity: Qualification is valid for 3 years and will automatically be repeated upon expiry.

2. Category-Based Supplier Technical Qualification
A detailed evaluation based on the product or service range registered in the supplier’s profile. This ensures the supplier, service provider, or manufacturer is technically competent to deliver the specified product or services.
This qualification is automated and based on the details provided in the supplier profile. Therefore, it is essential that suppliers maintain accurate records of their associated categories and sub-categories as per their trade license, updating these at least once a year.

  • Validity: Qualification status is valid for 3 years and will automatically be repeated upon expiry.
  • Additional Requirements: Site visits may be required as part of this process.

3. Product Technical Qualification
A specialized qualification process for new products being introduced into TAQA’s operations. These products undergo a piloting exercise in a controlled testing environment to assess their Fit-For-Purpose suitability for TAQA Transmission and Distribution infrastructure.
Each qualification type is designed to align supplier capabilities with TAQA’s operational and technical standards, ensuring the delivery of quality products and services.
